Following the success of his sold-out “I Wanna be a Musician” Fringe Season, award winning looping artist Adam Page will be returning to the 2025 Adelaide Fringe with his upbeat and wacky show For Kids…and Their Adults.
Go on a whirlwind exploration of music created by recording sounds from Adam Page AND the audience. Blowing raspberries, snorting, singing in languages not yet discovered – all of these sounds and more can be used to create the most “amazingest” and “incrediblent” symphonies of sound you’ve never heard!
Looping pedals have become a fixture at the feet of many a solo artist, but not often do you hear them being used quite like Adam Page does.
For Adam – who also writes symphonies, produces records for other musicians, and plays in several bands and collaborations among other musical pursuits – engaging the audience in the music-making process goes to the heart of why he works in the art form.
“It doesn’t matter if I’m standing in front of an audience being a clown with a looping pedal or standing in front of an 80-piece orchestra playing one of the symphonies I’ve written – it’s all expression, it’s all fun, it’s all about having people just disappear into the music for a while,” says Adam.
As the title suggests, this show is an invitation for the grown-ups to feel as welcome in the venue as their kids. The musical mayhem and sick beats that will be created live and in the moment are intended to make any foot tap and body wriggle in their seats. And who knows, maybe there’s a musical genius Mum or Boy-Band dreaming Dad out there just waiting for their moment to shine, impress and embarrass their kids!
Guaranteed to get your kids off of their iPads and putting their own musical talents on show, this show is a must-see for all families this Fringe season.
