‘Coffee, Turps and Devotion’ evokes days spent painting in the artists’ Riverton studios, drinking coffee in breaks under the verandah with the dog and their devotion to art – the act of painting, the environment they live in, what they choose to paint and to each other.
Having shared their lives and studio building for almost two decades, both working directly from life – inspired by surrounding scenes and objects, Robert Hannaford and Alison Mitchell Hannaford’s creative output is, nevertheless, distinctly different.
This exhibition brings together their recent drawings, paintings and sculpture.
