The night will immerse you in a dreamlike world where warm, lo-fi visuals by Joe F., crafted using obsolete analog video gear, dance in perfect harmony with Georgia’s ethereal sound. The high-definition LED walls at The Lab will transform into a surreal landscape, amplifying the spiritual and organic qualities of the music.
Georgia’s sound is gentle, deep, and inviting, weaving together textured beats, soulful vocals, and an embodied sense of place. For this show, being paired with stage design by Claude Creighton, the evening is more than a performance—it’s a world to step into.
The night will also feature a special collaboration with Maryam Rahmani, whose santur melodies will weave seamlessly with Georgia’s vocals, complemented by Gabriella Smart on Electric Cristal, Roli Seaboard and electronics. All together, creating a rich and mesmerising blend. Opening the evening, the dreamy My Chérie will captivate with her emotive and entrancing presence.
Prepare to be held close by music that invites, moves, and uplifts. This is more than an album launch; it’s an immersive celebration of sound, connection, and the land that inspired it all.
About The Artists
Georgia Oatley
Georgia Oatley, an alternative electronica and trip-hop artist known for blending found sounds, IDM rhythms, and soaring vocals, is set to release her debut album, ‘A Pastoral’, on February 10, 2025. Inspired by its namesake, A Pastoral—a term denoting works connected to country life—is a reflection on the artist’s relationship with the land, specifically the beautiful Peramangk and Kaurna land she calls home.
Featuring seven evocative tracks, ‘A Pastoral’ immerses listeners in a textured landscape of gentle synths, chirping birds, and polyrhythmic percussion, painting an intimate sonic portrait of her environment. Georgia treads similar sonic territory to the likes of Tirzah, Little Dragon, Portishead, Nicolas Jaar, and Björk, guiding the listener through a mesmerising auditory experience that’s equal parts soothing and immersive.
