Andrew will explore how approaches to music production in Ableton Live can be quickly translated to video design and the potential interactions of video and audio within the software.
Designed for musicians with an existing understanding and familiarity with Ableton Live, participants will learn how the Videosync software can be implemented with live performance via Ableton to create dynamic and reactive visuals.

Creating Live Visuals with Ableton and Videosync
Participants will explore Videosync in Ableton Live to create reactive, dynamic visuals that can accompany live music performances, using the same approach for manipulating video as they would audio in Ableton.

Requirements:
- Laptop system requirements
- Ableton Live full version (11/12 Suite, or 11/12 Standard with Max for Live)
- Videosync (free trial)
- Prior knowledge (participants should understand Ableton fundamentals such as effect racks, automation, etc.)
- Video content (please provide an existing piece of video content to work with)
Who is Andrew Lang?
Andrew Lang (he/him) is a composer & noisemaker living on Kaurna land in Adelaide, Australia. His work encompasses elements of ambient, drone, shoegaze, and contemporary classical music, to explore the illusory and emotional nature of sound.
Andrew utilizes a range of resources in his work including live and electronic instrumentation, reactive visuals, field recordings, tape, found sounds, and live reamplification, often heavily processed to draw out unusual and unfamiliar characteristics in the source material.
Andrew has composed several full-length solo records, as well as works for film and live performance. His music is known for being contemplative, subtle, emotional, and at times deeply moving.
