TIMELIGHT FAQ

How do I enter TIMELIGHT?

Please enter ILA’s building via the main doors at 63 Light Square, Adelaide, then either walk up the first flight of stairs or take the lift to Level One.

ILA uses e-tickets which are issued via email upon purchase. Please find these within your emails and have them ready on your phone before you arrive. Venue staff on Level 1 will scan your mobile tickets from your phone for entry and will advise where to wait prior to the session commencing. If you prefer to print your tickets out at home, please make sure you place them in the correct recycling bin afterwards.

What time do I arrive at my event?

The starting time of each show is on your ticket.  We ask all ticket buyers to arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the experience to allow our staff enough time to scan your tickets and provide you with some information about the experience. Latecomers may not be allowed entry.

Can I purchase tickets at the venue on the day?

We highly recommend that you purchase tickets in advance to your chosen session to avoid disappointment. The TIMELIGHT experience has a strict capacity, and we anticipate that many sessions will sell out in advance.

Is the TIMELIGHT experience suitable for children?

TIMELIGHT is suitable for all ages. Everyone attending TIMELIGHT will need a ticket for admittance, even if the ticket is $0 (as for children aged 0-2)

Do I need to book a ticket for my baby aged under 2, who has free admittance?

Yes. Our venue has a strict capacity limit so all attendees must have a pre-booked ticket. Please choose the appropriate ticket type when purchasing your other tickets within the booking process. If these are not booked in advance and that session is full, you will be asked to come back to attend at another time.

I went to EDEN by flora&faunavisions as part of Illuminate Adelaide last year. Is this production like that?

Yes, this experience is by the same Berlin company flora&faunavisions and will have the same amazing interactive technology as EDEN, but will be bigger and better than ever.

Are there food or drinks available to purchase on site?

Yes, our Café will be open throughout the TIMELIGHT season offering coffees and hot chocolates, snacks, and alcoholic beverages including a themed TIMELIGHT cocktail. Please note that food and drinks cannot be taken into the TIMELIGHT experience in the Studio, with the exception of bottled water (not in cups), in order to keep our LED screens in pristine condition.

Can I pay for my food and beverage in your cafe with cash?

No, we are a cashless venue.

What facilities do you have for families?

ILA is a family-friendly venue. We encourage you to leave prams in the car, however there is a lift and limited space to store your pram upon entry. On level 1 is an accessible toilet which includes a baby change table. There will be child-friendly snacks and drinks available for purchase from our adjacent level 1 cafe, but please note that no food or drink is permitted into the TIMELIGHT experience in the Studio.

Lost Property

Lost property will be taken to the Café on Level One. If you leave something behind, please email [email protected] and our friendly team will look and get back to you.

Accessibility/ Relaxed sessions

ILA is a fully accessible venue with a lift to level 1 and accessible toilets adjacent to our cafe and within the Gallery area. The dates and times for these are clearly listed on the ticketing page. Read our accessibility guide here for more information.

Access bookings and Companion Cards

ILA recognises the national Government issued Companion Card and Carer Australia Card. Free entry is offered for one carer accompanying the cardholder when using one of the approved cards. These must be reserved in advance when purchasing the ticket for the cardholder – please choose the relevant ticket type from the drop down menu. If these are not booked in advance and that session is full, you will be asked to come back to attend at another time.
